The challenge:
To create a rich looking logo utilizing a lighthouse as a graphic element. Gold, deep red, deep blue and black were to be used.

The solution:
I drew a seascape with "Portland Head" as the primary graphic and enclosed it in a seal with gold ribbon. Red was used minimally to give a splash of color.

The challenge:
To create a hip looking logo to correspond with PopExplorer website layouts I designed.

The solution:
I used vibrant colors and a silhouette drawing of a young woman dancing in front of a globe in a clean looking graphic.

The challenge:
To apply a type treatment to the acronym; create and incorporate a cartoon drawing of the program mascot.

The solution:
I kept the logo in a circle "seal" format that could easily be used for patches. I also used amber as a tie-in to "amber alert", and showed the kid-friendly mascot kicking and happy.

The challenge:
This logo was to be clean and high-tech looking, and have a clever look with graphic or type usage.

The solution:
I ended up doing a very simple type treatment, making the graphic the unique feature. It is a simple monitor with large "W" which pixelates and spills out the top like a waterfall.

The challenge:
To capture the (unique) personality of my client in a garage-style format. He was completely open to color and concept, but required that I have fun with it.

The solution:
I integrated a character in mechanic garb holding a microphone, and used bold cartoon style typography.

The challenge:
To make a quaint logo for a coastal Maine B&B. Concept was completely open, but it was to be kept to two spot colors.

The solution:
To be in keeping with the name, I used pine cones and trim as the graphic. I chose typography that complimented the overall logo, and used earthones for colors.

The challenge:
This logo needed to be simple and business-like, and had to incorporate an icon with the "benefits" theme.

The solution:
To make the name pop, I used a bold typeface in a rich red. The icon was extremely simple, yet effective, with cast shadows giving it some "umph".

The challenge:
The only requirements were that it be sleek, eye-catching, and two-color. Color usage and concept were open.

The solution:
This design happened by accident! I wanted a simple icon showing infinity without using the standard symbol. Playing with the skew tool in Illustrator, this is what happened. I kept the type thin and clean.

The challenge:
My job for this client was to create an icon to go with their standard branding (shown in the black rectangle).

The solution:
I took the letters "IP" and made a graphic so that it displayed the same when rotated (or, "switched"). I chose bright green for vibrant contrast with the black.

The challenge:
This logo had to be cold but cute. A cow had to be incorporated in some creative way.

The solution:
I created a caricature of a cow first thing, and made her shiver with ice cream. I had fun playing with the typography until everything came together.

The challenge:
The only criteria for this logo was to keep it clean, sleek and professional.

The solution:
Keeping the typography simple in a sans serif typeface, I created a stylized MA which can be easily carried over to other collateral as a graphic accent.

The challenge:
This was a logo makeover project. The goal was to design a logo and website with a corporate feel that would make the client stand out against their competitors.

The solution:
With the bottom line concept in mind, I did a simple bar graph icon in a "gel" treatment to pop next to the typography.

The challenge:
This logo was to be simple yet sophisticated with type treatment only; no graphic elements.

The solution:
The "signature" mark is always a good idea when your name is your branding. Wine and champagne colors give the logo a subtle splash of color (no pun intended).

The challenge:
This company's colors were bright green and purple, and they wanted a simple type treatment.

The solution:
I used gradients of green to give the name "Elite" some pizazz, and gave it both a hard white glow and a soft dropshadow in the purple. The balance of type I tucked underneath as a tagline.

The challenge:
This logo was to incorporate a bay, company name and an arts & crafts element. Creative freedom was wide open.

The solution:
I arched the company name and used a gradient of warm colors to make the type pop. I chose to give this a tropical feel with a palm-framed bay and depicted crafting tools in the center of the oval.

The challenge:
RetirePA.com needed a logo in horizontal format for use in their website banner area. It had to have a patriotic feel with either stars or stripes as a graphic element.

The solution:
I worked in the shape of the state of PA with a slanted star. Typeface for the name was created in a bold typeface with stylized streaks to match the treatment in the star.

The challenge:
Concept was wide open on this project. The client wanted to use a sleek, extended type treatment, and wanted to use the colors red and blue.

The solution:
I chose to play with the "WV" to create a logo mark which would accompany the type treatment, but could also be used as a stand-alone graphic.
